: The example document present in settings > documents > customize template does not reflect all company settings. It is only an example document.
If you want to see how your documents will look specifically with your products and pricing settings you will want to make an order in your account to use as a test.‼️
You can add additional text, tables, and images to your documents so that those details will be present on each document you create within an order.
The information you enter here will be displayed on all new documents by default but can be overridden for individual documents.
To add content to, and to edit these templates:
- Go to Settings
- Click on Documents on the left hand menu
- Click on the Customize Templates button in the document templates section
Next, depending on the document you want to edit, click Invoice, Contract, or Quote above the example document. Each document has a different template.
Note: at this time it is only possible to have one template per document type.
Underneath the document selection, you will see 4 other settings option for your document:
- List Individual stock on document
- Show product photos on document
- Show free items on invoices
- Hide lines in sections
*Note: there are only 3 options for Contracts and Quotes. 'Show free items on invoices' is only a setting for invoices.
List individual stock items
On each document type, you can also let your customers see which exact items they rented, each template has the option to List individual stock items.
Show product photos on documents
On each document type, you can also let your customers see a picture of which items they rented, each template has the option to Show product photos.
Show free items on invoices
On invoices, you can also show free items on your invoices so that your customers can see everything in their order rather than just seeing the items that cost.
If you want your customers to only see items that cost on your invoices, you can turn this setting off.
This setting is only shown in invoices.
Hide lines in sections
On each document type, you can also let your customers see the products listed within a section (this setting would be disabled), or you can choose to hide products that are in a section (this setting would be enabled), each template has the option to Hide lines in sections.
Sections can be found towards the bottom of your order screen and are therefore shown on your invoices. Sections are used to help organize and categorize the products within an order.
You can set up document numbering per document type with dynamic values.
You can use custom CSS to change the look and feel of your documents even more.
