Learn how to simplify your Booqable set-up process by following the account set-up checklist.

Welcome to Booqable! We are so happy to have you onboard.

The following article will guide you through all the essential steps you should take, in the correct order, so you can get your Booqable account quickly and efficiently set up for success.

How it works

To prevent having to repeat steps, or create more work for yourself in the future when completing the set up of extra features in Booqable, we have created the following checklist order for you to follow so your account can be set up as effeciently as possible.

By the end of these steps, your account should be set up in a way that allows you to accept go live with both your online and in-store rental store, so you can start saving time and increasing your revenue with Booqable Rental Software.

Step 1. Add your products

1. Create a tax profile

So taxes can be automatically assigned to every product, and calculated on every order, follow the instructions in the link below to set up taxes as a first step.

2. Add a rental product

So you can complete the future steps of setting up product pricing, your rental website, and accepting rental orders- you can first follow the instructions below to add your rental products.

You will learn how to add products of different tracking methods, variations (for sizes, color, etc), and stock count in this step.

3. Set up pricing

1. So that you can start charging for your rental orders, follow the instructions in this step to choose how each of your products are priced. This could be through a flat fee, a fixed price, a custom pricing structure, and seasonal/weekday price changes.

4. Set up security deposits

So the pricing on your orders are correct in the upcoming steps, you can follow the instructions below to set up how you wish refundable security deposits to be charged in order to protect your rental products.

Step 2. Set up your online store

💡Note: If you do not plan to take orders online, and prefer in-store/over-the-phone orders instead, skip this step.

1. Set up your website

So you can start taking online reservations from customers, follow the steps below to either easily create a brand new website with Booqable, or connect Booqable to an existing website of your own.

2. Set up rental periods and operating hours

So that customers can choose the correct dates, times, and durations for their pickup and return - follow the steps below to set up rental periods and operating hours for your store.

3. Display product availability

To remove the need for your customers to contact you first, you display all product availability online to allow advanced bookings for your rental products directly.

4. Place a test booking

So you can review your customer’s experience ordering online before going live, follow the steps below to place a test booking on your rental website.

Step 3. Create and fulfil orders

1. Create an order

So you can prepare for in-store or over the phone orders, learn how to create a manual order in Booqable with the steps below.

2. Reserve an order

To prevent double bookings and keep product availability updated, follow the step below to reserve an order.

1. Click Reserve on the individual order's screen; once you are happy with the rental periods, products, and prices selected for the order.

3. Pick up an order

To mark that an order has been picked up by a customer, follow the step below to mark an order as Picked-up.

1. Click Pickup on the individual order's screen, to practice the step that will occur at the time the products are handed over to the customer.

2. In the pop-up box that will appear, click the 'Specify stock item' button to select the specific stock items that will be going out with the customer on this order.

Step 4. Accept payments

1. Connect your Stripe or PayPal account

In order to charge credit cards and/or Paypal accounts for your rental orders, follow the tutorial below to learn how to connect your Stripe and/or Paypal account to Booqable.

2. Enable online payments

By enabling online payments in your settings, you have now unlocked the last step required to go live with Booqable, and start accepting orders both in-store and online
