Google Ads app (Beta)

Connect Google Ads to Booqable to automatically track conversions and measure your Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).

The Google Ads app allows you to measure the performance and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) of your Google Ads campaigns. Whenever a customer completes a checkout, Booqable automatically fires a conversion event, along with the exact order value, back to Google Ads.

How it works and what to expect

This integration applies directly to the Booqable checkout. It works whether you use a website built with Booqable or have Booqable embedded on a platform like WordPress, Squarespace, or Shopify.

It handles the tracking automatically, so you do not need to manually add tracking code to your website settings or checkout scripts.

What it tracks:

  • Completed checkouts: The app fires a conversion event exclusively on the final thank-you page (order completed).

  • Revenue data: Booqable automatically passes the exact rental order value to Google Ads.

  • Processing time: Conversions typically appear in your Google Ads dashboard within a few hours.

What it does not track:

  • No funnel steps: It does not track actions leading up to the booking, such as viewing products (view_item) or adding items to the cart (add_to_cart).

  • No customer data matching: The app does not support Google's Enhanced Conversions (passing hashed email addresses or phone numbers). It relies entirely on standard browser cookies.

Important for Embedded (e.g., WordPress) Websites

If your front-end website is on a platform like WordPress, but your checkout uses a default Booqable domain (e.g., company.booqableshop.com), browsers will block the tracking cookie during the redirect to the checkout. This will result in missing or untracked conversions in Google Ads.

To fix this: You must set up a custom subdomain for your checkout (e.g., checkout.yourwebsite.com). Because the checkout then shares your main domain name, the browser can read the cookie and attribute your conversions correctly.

Step 1: Create a Conversion Action in Google Ads

Follow these steps to generate your Conversion ID and Conversion Label:

  1. Log into your Google Ads account.

  2. In the left-hand navigation menu, click GoalsConversionsSummary.

  3. Click the blue Create conversion action button.

  4. Select Conversions on a website.

  5. Enter your website URL, click Scan, and then click Save and continue.

  6. Under Choose a category to create conversion actions, select Purchase.

  7. Click Manually with code.

  8. Configure the settings panel:

    • Goal and action optimization: Select Purchase.

    • Conversion name: Enter a name (e.g., Booqable Completed Checkout).

    • Value: Select Use different values for each conversion.

    • Count: Select Every.

  9. Click Done and then click Save and continue.

Step 2: Retrieve your Conversion ID and Conversion Label

  1. On the tag installation screen, click the Use Google Tag Manager tab.

  2. Look at the data table beneath the Use Google Tag Manager to install the Google Ads conversion tracking tag header to find your credentials:

    • Conversion ID: Copy the number shown under the Conversion ID column (e.g., 123456789).

    • Conversion label: Copy the alphanumeric string shown under the Conversion label column (e.g., AbCDeF_12GHiJkLMnoP).

  3. Click Done at the bottom of the page. (Note: We are only using this tab to easily copy your tracking ID and label. You do not need to click the blue "Set up in Google Tag Manager" button, as the native Booqable app handles the actual deployment for you).

Step 3: Activate the Google Ads App in Booqable

Now that you have your credentials, you can complete the setup within your Booqable account.

  1. Log into Booqable and navigate to the App Store in the left-hand menu.

  2. Find the Google Ads app and click Install or Manage.

  3. Paste your Conversion ID into the first field, making sure to type AW- manually right before the number (e.g., AW-123456789).

  4. Paste your Conversion Label into the second field (e.g., AbCDeF_12GHiJkLMnoP).

  5. Click Save.

Your Google Ads conversion tracking is now live! From the next completed checkout from an ad click, revenue and conversion signals will automatically route back to your Google Ads performance reports.
