Initially, every order has a status of [NEW].
It doesn't appear in the Order screen and doesn't have an order number.

Unless the order is canceled, you'll want to Save it as a draft, or Reserve it to prevent overbooking.  Reserve only appears if products are added to an order and the selectable rental period is specified.

Save as a draft order

The order is saved, but the items are not reserved yet; maybe you’re waiting for the go-ahead from your customer? All products are still available for other reservations during the selected rental period.

Reserving an order

The items on the order are reserved and unavailable for other bookings during the order period.

What's next?

When your customers pick up your items, you'll want to keep track of them.
Next, read how to handle pickups and returns.
