How to accept payments through Mollie

Learn how to connect with Mollie to accept payments.

How it works

Connecting with Mollie

The first step is to connect your Booqable account to your Mollie account:

  1. Navigate to the App store.

  2. Click on the Mollie app and click Install app.

  3. Grant permissions to allow Mollie to manage your account.

  4. Click Connect with Mollie which will open the website in a new window.

  5. Log in or click the 'Create account' button to create a Mollie account if you don't have one already.

  6. If you have multiple organizations in Mollie, choose the one you would like to connect with Booqable from the dropdown menu, then click the Connect button.

  7. If you want to accept online payments, make sure that you've set up payments at checkout.

  8. Now you're ready to accept Mollie payments in Booqable!

Charging customers at checkout using Mollie

  1. Once customers reach your online checkout and fill out the checkout form, they can click Continue to payment.

  2. They will need select Mollie as their payment method and click the Pay now button.

  3. Then, they will be redirected to Mollie to complete the payment​.

  4. Once the payment is complete, the order will appear in your Booqable account's Orders section and the payment record will appear in the order's right sidebar under Payments.

Charging customers on manual orders using Mollie

To charge for manual orders using Mollie, you will need to use a payment link:

  1. Go to Orders and click on the order you would like to charge a payment.

  2. Click on New payment in the right sidebar under 'Payments.'

  3. Enter the Order amount and/or Security deposit amount that you would like to authorize before proceeding.

  4. Select the Payment link option.

  5. Under Processing method, click Charge directly.

  6. Create the payment link and send it to your customer. When they open the link, Mollie and any other payment method you have enabled will appear.

Authorize a payment

Using Mollie, you can authorize payments on manual orders using a payment link. Follow steps 1-4 in the previous above​, then follow these steps instead:

  1. Under Processing method, click Authorize payment.

  2. Create the payment link and send it to your customer. When they open the link, Mollie and any other payment method that support authorizations will appear.

Capture or release authorizations

Once the payment has been authorized, it will appear on the order screen in your Booqable account. Hover over the payment and or click the 'Capture authorization' button and you will have the options to capture or release the authorization.

  • Release: Releasing the authorization will end the hold on the customer's funds.

  • Capture authorization: If you need to charge an amount, choose 'Capture authorization' and enter the amount to be charged.

Refunding with Mollie

To process a refund for a Booqable order that has been paid for using Mollie, this can be done directly from the order screen in Booqable.

  1. Go to the Orders section and click on the order

  2. Find the payment in the right sidebar

  3. Hover over the payment

  4. Click on the Refund button to initiate a refund

  5. Enter the amount and confirm by clicking the refund button in the bottom right.

💡 Note: The refund may take time to process and appear in your Mollie account.

Booqable charges processing fees per transaction to use the Mollie app based on your plan:

  • Essential/Small/Start: 0.5%

  • Pro/Medium/Grow: 0.35%

  • Premium/Large/Scale: 0.25%
