Get more out of each booking by adding unique recommended products to each of your product's pages and increase your average order value with cross-sell.
💡Note: This feature is only available in the Grow and Scale plans. To gain access to it, upgrade your plan by going to Settings > Account and billing or reach out to our customer support team to change your plan.
How it works
Recommended products will be shown below the Add to cart button to help customers find relevant add-ons and increase cart value. Use it to recommend complementary items, related products, or add-ons.
1. How to enable cross-sell recommendations
Before you can start adding recommendations to your products, you will first need to enable the widget.
Go to your Settings > Online bookings > Cross-sell.
Click to check the Show cross-sell on product pages.
Enter a Section title that will appear in your online store.
Optionally, enter a Section subtitle to describe the products being listed.
Choose the layout design that you prefer. You can choose between a List style or Carousel style.
Check the 'Show only available products, up to' setting to set a maximum number of available products to display. You can show up to 12 available products at a time.
If this setting is left unchecked, all recommended products will be displayed regardless of their availability.
If availability is disabled in your online store, this will still limit the number of products based on the order set in your inventory. Availability labels will not be shown.
Once you've customized the widget, click Save.
💡Note: When there are more products available than the limit, product order will take priority. Products at the top of your recommended products list will be displayed first.
2. How to add and manage product recommendations
Once you've enabled the feature and customized your widget, you must add recommendations to products for them to appear in your online store. To add recommended products:
Go to Inventory > select a product > Cross-sell.
Under Recommended products, click in the search bar to bring up a dropdown of your inventory. Add, remove, or search products to add as recommendations.
Change the order of recommended products by clicking and dragging the three lines next to a product to place them in your desired order. This is the order they will show up in the recommended section's list in your online store.
To remove recommended products after you've added them, click the 'X' button next to the product.
Under the Appears as cross-sell for section, you will find a list of items where the product is being recommended. You can remove this product from other product pages by clicking on the 'X' icon.

3. How to add recommended products to a cart
Now that you've set up the widget and added recommended products, check out how it looks in the online store and see how your customers will interact with it.
There are two ways to add products depending on whether the product has variations or not.
Products without variations: Simply choose the quantity and click the cart button to add it to the rental.
Products with variations: Click the Select option button which will bring up a popup. From there, customers can choose a variation and quantity then add it to their cart.
4. How to disable cross-sell recommendations
If you no longer want to display cross-sell recommendations, follow these steps:
Go to your Settings > Online bookings > Cross-sell.
Click to uncheck the Enable cross-sell feature.
Click Save to make the change.
Troubleshooting
Why don't my recommended products appear in the online store?
There are a few different reasons this could be happening:
The cross-sell feature is not enabled. Ensure that the cross-sell feature is enabled and configured for the widget to show up. Follow the instructions above on How to enable cross-sell.
You have not yet added any recommended products. Check out the section on How to add product recommendations to ensure you have selected recommended products to show on the product page.
The product(s) you have selected do not show in the online store. If a product's online store settings has the 'Show in online store' toggle off, it will not show up in the recommended products section. See How to adjust product online store settings on how to manage this setting.
The product is unavailable. Once a customer has selected a rental period, unavailable products will be filtered out if you have enabled the Only show products available for the selected rental period, up to setting.
