When it comes to pricing your rental products; Booqable has created features that allow even the most intricate pricing structure to work for in-store, and online orders.
The following article will guide you through how to set up general pricing settings in Booqable, to achieve the pricing that works best for your rental business.
How it works
1. Enable pricing in Booqable
Prices will be enabled in Booqable by default. This means all the prices of your products will be displayed on your online store.
If you lend out products free of charge, you can disable pricing altogether.
Disabling pricing on a global level removes all mention of prices, quotes, and invoices throughout the system and the online store, which will clean up the interface.
In the main navigation, click Settings.
Click Pricing in the left sidebar.
In the "General" section, choose if you wish to enable or disable the toggle labeled "Enable pricing".
2. Setting up currency settings
Next, you'll want to set your store's currency and pricing format.
In the main navigation, click Settings.
Click Pricing in the left sidebar.
In the "General" section, select your desired currency.
Choose if you want to denote the currency a symbol ($) or as a three-letter code (USD).
Finally, choose if the currency denotation should be before or after the amount.
3. Choose how prices are displayed
Choose if (and how) prices are displayed in your online store. Booqable has three formats for displaying your product prices in the online store; by Charge period, Rental period, or Base price.
In the main navigation, click Settings.
Click Online reservations from the left sidebar and scroll down to the Show prices section.
If you wish to use prices in Booqable without showing them online by disabling "Show prices in online store". Hiding prices is useful if you want your customers to request a quote, for example.
1. Setting up a charge period
A charge period price label displays the days that are being charged, regardless of the actual order duration.
For example, you may have set up a discount for a certain product which means a 3-day rental only costs the price of 2 days. With a charge period, the price is displayed as
"2 days: $20.00".
2. Setting up an order period
An order period price label displays the order duration with the price, regardless of the duration that's actually charged.
For example, you may have set up a discount for a certain product which means a 3-day rental only costs the price of 2 days. With an order period, the price is displayed as
"3 days: $20.00".
3. Setting your lowest (base) price
A base price label displays the minimum price for this product, or the 'from' price, regardless of the actual price and order duration.
For example: for a 3-day rental at $30, the price shows as "1 day: $10".
