Product performance reports is one of Booqable's more popular tools as it can provide a detailed and professional report of your store's previous performance, in order for your team to accurately plan for future stock levels of popular products.

The best news is, this report can also be exported into a CSV or Excel file report!

How it works

Product performance reports create a detailed snapshot of the amount of revenue your rental products, stock items, and sale products have generated for your rental business for a particular date range.

These reports take picked up, returned, and archived orders into account - and revenue can be based off of finalised invoices only, or any order processed within your Booqable account.

Note: Cancelled orders are not included in reports.

1. Find the product performance report

1. In your Booqable account, click into the Reports page on the left sidebar main menu.

2. Click the Run report button under the Product performance heading.

2. Filter your results with the left hand sidebar settings

  • Show revenue by is a dropdown menu where you can choose to base this report on finalised invoices only, or every order processed in your account.

  • Status will allow you to generate results based on either Active (or processed) orders, Deleted orders, or All.

  • Tracking type will allow you to generate seperate results for your trackable products, or bulk products. If you wish to generate results for both product types in one report, you can leave these settings toggled off.

  • Period is the setting that will allow you to set the date range which these performance numbers will be based off.

3. Choose your product type

1. In Booqable, you can choose to generate a product performance report for either your store's Rental products, Stock items, or Sale items.

1. Rental product reports

Rental product reports will generate a list of your products for you to click into individually, displaying many factors of their performance within the set time period.

💡The line graph seen in the image below provides a visual display of the busiest time periods for this product's orders, within the set date range.

  • Added is the date in which this product was created in your store.

  • Quantity is the quantity of stock items currently live in your account for the selected product.

  • Rented count is the amount of times that this product was rented within the set time period.

  • Rent duration is the overall time the selected product spent with customers during the set time period.

  • Charge duration is the overall time the selected product was charged for while out with customers during the set time period.

  • Revenue is the amount of money, in your store's currency, that the selected product generated for your business within the set time period.

  • Stock items. If you scroll down on the selected product, you will see all of these same performance factors are displayed for each stock item of the selected product.

2. Stock item reports

Stock item reports will generate a list of each individual stock item you currently have within your store, displaying many factors of their performance within your chosen time period.

The performance factor columns in this report remain generally the same as those that appear in the rental product report. However, the product name is replaced with the stock item Identifier, which is in the customised name you originally labeled this stock item with. Also, there is an extra column placed within this report for the product, and product variation, which this stock item falls under.

3. Sale item reports

Sale item reports reports will generate a list of each sale item you have sold within your store during the set time period.

This display's factors of performance such as the date the sale item was added to your store, the amount of times it was sold, and its revenue in total for the set time period.

Best Practices

1. Export a report

With each report you generate under the product performance report feature, you can adjust the filters to export the information into a detailed and customized performance report.

For example, this is helpful in comparing performance of different date ranges, performance of different product types, and the performance of orders paid by invoice over orders paid with other methods.

You can export any report into a CSV or Excel file, and adjust the columns that appear to suit your report's requirements.

2. The product search bar

For any of these three report types, you can choose to cut down the time you spend on reading through this report by searching for a specific product in the report search bar.

3. Filter by location

If you are a business with different store locations, you can set up locations within Booqable and use the location filtering bar on each report type to bring up the performance of products belonging only to a certain store.

This is also helpful for generating a report which compares the performance of each location within your rental business.

You're all set!

You have now successfully learned how to generate product performance reports in Booqable.
