The Product Settings tab allows you to view and change your product's set-up.
This is how the product is displayed on documents and in your online store.
The name of a product is mandatory and must be unique.
SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)
A unique code that is assigned to a product to identify it. It helps you to keep track of your inventory.
You can come up with your own system of assigning SKU's to your products, just make sure you are consistent and make it understandable and recognizable.
You can include specific details about the product, like warehouse location, size, and color.
Examples of SKU's:
- Coffee Mug, model no.1, Red = CM01-R
- Sony A7S body = SON-A7S-BOD

You can create persistent custom fields to store any additional data.
Padding time temporarily makes a product unavailable before and/or after other reservations.
Some use cases:
- You need time to prepare an item before a rental (like charging batteries),
- You need time to service an item after a rental (like cleaning),
- You want to have some time between rentals to prevent issues (like late returns).
Here's an example:
This product has padding time applied (1 hour, after).
It's reserved between 09:00 and 10:00, but isn't available for other rentals until 11:00.
Padding time isn't added to the price and is not displayed on documents and other customer communications.
Note: When you add or update padding time on a product, it isn't applied to existing orders (that could create some strange availability issues).
To apply padding time on existing orders, you can re-add the product or change the rental duration.
