We're going to make some changes to the way Booqable handles pickups.

Please review this article to know what's changing and when.

In this article:

What's changing in Booqable?

We're updating our inventory system to reflect real-world processes better and give you more reliable information about an item's current status.

Current behavior

To determine whether an item can be picked up or not, Booqable looks at the order times rather than the item's current status.

This means that items can show as "in stock" in your inventory, but they're returned late in reality.

It also means that items can be marked as "picked up" on multiple orders at once.

New behavior

After this update, Booqable will enforce that items are returned before they can be picked up again. So effectively, an item can only be "picked up" on one order at a time.

Also, the inventory screen will show the actual (current) status of items.

How do these changes affect me?

Most users will not notice a difference in their day-to-day operations. You may, however, see a notification when handing out a product that's currently still marked as "picked up". Booqable will show you a list of the relevant order(s) where the product needs to be marked as returned before it can be picked up again.

Tip: When you have many orders that are still marked as picked up, you can use a bulk action to return multiple orders simultaneously.

When are these changes coming?

We're gradually rolling out these changes to all Booqable accounts in two stages:

  • Starting now, Booqable may show a warning when handing out items that are still marked as picked up. You will, however, still be able to continue. Also, we'll display the actual number of items that are currently marked as picked up. That means that, in some cases, you could see that the number of picked-up items exceeds the total quantity in your inventory for some items.

  • In stage 2 (which will be rolled out over the next couple of months), specific stock items or quantities need to be in stock before you can mark them as picked up again.
