Adding barcodes to stock items and products is easy with the Booqable iOS & Android app. You can do everything you need to associate a barcode to an item or product without using external gear or systems. Note: Barcodes are only available for Pro and Premium users.

We recommend ordering sequential barcodes that you can get relatively inexpensively and stick them to your products. See the linked article for advice.

To get started with barcode association, go to your settings and select Set Up Barcodes.

Selecting a product

Once you have clicked Set Up Barcodes, you will be brought to a list of your products, you can click on a product or type in the search bar to find the product you want to add a barcode to.

Adding barcodes to orders

Once you have selected your product, you need to decide if you want to add a barcode to the product, or add a barcode to a specific stock item. To move forward click the appropriate Add barcode button, which will open your camera.

Scanning a barcode

To scan a barcode, you need to bring the barcode into view of your camera, the app will automatically detect the barcode and populate the information below the viewport. When you're satisfied that this is correct click Link to associate the barcode.

Well done! You've associated a barcode

Now your product has a barcode, you can use the app's built in scanner to assign products to orders or scan products as picked up or returned. You can see an overview of barcodes associated with stock items on the product screen in the app and on desktop.

Editing a barcode

To edit a barcode, select the stock item. You can edit the information manually or scan a new barcode using the same process described above.
