If in-store or online checkout payments don't suit your customers for whatever reason, Booqable has teamed up with Stripe to offer a super simple and safe way to request a card payment from a customer.
Follow the article below to learn how to send online payment requests to let your customers pay for their orders in their own time.
💡Note: To create payment links, you have to connect your Booqable account with Stripe.
How it works
Payment request links are created within your Booqable account, with payments processed through Stripe.
When your customer clicks the link, they'll be able to pay you using the payment methods you've enabled.
The order's payment status will be updated in real time to let you know the order has been paid for!
1. Create a payment link
View an order, click the Payment button and following the instructions below.
Choose Request payment as a payment method.
Fill in the amount you want to request.
Click Create payment link.
Now, you can copy the link to your clipboard to use it in any kind of message, or preview the payment request.
When your customer clicks the link, they'll be able to pay you using the payment methods you've enabled.
💡Note: All text for your payment request is fully translatable.
2. Create an authorization hold via a payment request
Instead of charging the customer right away, you can now send a payment request that places an authorization hold on their card. This is ideal when you want to secure funds up front (for example, as a deposit), but only capture the amount later, once the order is finalized.
The customer enters their details as usual, but their card is only charged when you choose to capture the hold. If plans change, you can release the hold instead.
3. Cancel a payment request
1. To cancel a pending payment request, hover over the payment request and click Cancel request.
2. Now, if or when your customer visits the payment URL, they'll be notified the request has been canceled.
